All wheat grown in Russia is classified according to the following characteristics:

Type of wheat (botanical type of grain - hard / soft);

biological features of grain: color (red / white-grained) and vitreous. Wheat of six types (according to standardization) is grown in Russia:

soft spring red and soft winter red (with a 40-75% vitreous index);

solid spring and hard winter wheat (for the first, the vitreous index is more than 70%, for the second - the vitreousity is not limited);
-
soft spring white and soft winter-white (they have more than 60% vitreous).
